An Island-based stay at Galapagos Safari Camp is the best upgrade to a Galapagos Cruise, and can be taken either before or after your cruise. Our ACTIVE PRE/POST CRUISE SAFARI is designed for those who wish to explore the lesser-known sites of Santa Cruz Island that often aren’t included in cruise itineraries. Guests will have their own private car and driver at their disposal, together with their own private Naturalist guide. The latter is a mandatory requirement when entering the Galapagos National Park.

Arrival Day
Welcome to the Galapagos! An English-speaking naturalist guide meets you at the VIP lounge at Baltra Airport to escort you on your excursion of the highlands of Santa Cruz Island. Enjoy a delicious, locally-sourced lunch at a farm in the western hills. Take in the area’s natural beauty, pit craters, lava tunnels, and learn more about the scalesia and guayabillo forests. At the Tortoise Reserve, share some time in the giant tortoises’ natural habitat, surrounded by the abundant bird life of the area. End the day at Galapagos Safari Camp with a sunset cocktail followed by dinner.
Activities
With your onsite guide, select from a variety of exciting activities on the island, including biking, snorkeling, kayaking, a tour of the farm or local coffee plantation, a visit to the giant tortoise reserve, a walk among the Twin Craters, a trip to Puerto Ayora and the Charles Darwin Station, a naturalist walk, or an exploration of Tortuga Bay or Garrapatero Beach. Surfing and scuba lessons are also available, at added cost.

About the Hotel
This tented camp borders the Galapagos National Park in the highlands of Santa Cruz Island's 'transition zone', close to the tortoise reserve. The 55-hectare farm is on a ridge with magnificent views over the Pacific Ocean, as well as the western and northern islands of Isabela, Santiago, Pinzon, Baltra, Rabida, Guy Fawkes and Daphne.
The main lodge is perched on a hill with panoramic views from its expansive veranda. The open-plan interior draws the eyes to the islands dotted on the horizon. There is a lounge for relaxation, a cosy fireplace and a bar. The dining room serves local and international dishes created by the chef using home-grown produce.

Located below the main lodge, our tents are: Raised on wooden platforms. Supported by three layers: one to protect against the sun, another against the rain and an inner canvas shell. Blended with nature, with airy and comfortable interiors. Custom-made furniture, including cupboards and a writing desk. En-suite bathrooms with good water pressure, hot showers and flush toilets. Private balconies with ocean views and safari furniture.
Family Safari Suite
Located next to the main lodge we consider it an ideal solution for families with younger children. It houses six guests, features a master bedroom and two twin rooms as well as a playroom. Blended with nature, with airy and comfortable interiors. Custom-made furniture, including cupboards and a writing desk. En-suite bathrooms with good water pressure, hot showers and flush toilets. Private balconies with ocean views and safari furniture.
