Arrive
Upon arrival at the airport you will be transferred to your hotel in Arusha.
Lake Manyara
Today you will depart Arusha as you head towards Lake Manyara, driving via Makuyuni and Mto wa Mbu village. Apart from it's abundant birdlife, Lake Manyara National Park is also famous for its tree-climbing lions.
After a game drive you shall finish the day off at your accommodation and get settled in for dinner.
Lake Manyara National Park Afternoon Game Viewing
This afternoon you will head out on a game drive, seeking out baboons, hippos, impalas, elephants, wildebeest, buffalo, warthog and giraffes, just to name a few of the areas inhabitants. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for Manyara's most famous wildlife attraction, the tree-climbing lion.
Lake Manyara to Serengeti
Depart for the Serengeti National Park, famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson's gazelle join the wildebeest's trek for fresh grazing. Yet even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo, elephant and giraffe, and thousands upon thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant's gazelle. Golden-maned lion prides feast on the abundance of plain grazers. Solitary leopards haunt the acacia trees lining the Seronera River, while a high density of cheetahs prowls the southeastern plains. There is more to Serengeti than large mammals. There are over 500 species of birds, and your guide will also introduce you to the small five'. In addition to a wide variety of mammals, over 300 species of birdlife have been recorded in this park.
Enroute to Serengeti, you will drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Ndutu Plains.

Serengeti Game Viewing Activities
Today you will enjoy a full day of game drives in the majestic Serengeti. As far as the eye can see, thousands upon thousands of animals in herds, wildebeests and zebras migrating together, tall and graceful giraffes, jumping antelopes and gazelles, the powerful African elephant and the most respected group of animals: the predators. You will be able to spot lean cheetahs and shy leopards, foraging hyenas, and last but not least, the king himself; the lion. The Serengeti is also home to almost 500 different bird species, including; vultures, storks, flamingos, martial and fish eagles and ostriches.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Morning game drive in Serengeti.
Depart for Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is 2000ft. deep, and considered to be the 8th wonder of the world. Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact caldera in the world with an abundance of wildlife permanently resident on the crater floor.
Stop enroute at Olduvai Gorge, site of archeological findings where traces of pre-historic man dating back to 3.5 million years ago have been discovered. Visit the on-site museum and witness a panoramic view of the historical excavation site.

Ngorongoro Crater Safari
A highlight awaits you this morning as you depart to explore what is commonly referred to as the world’s largest natural wildlife arena. After breakfast, you descend with a picnic lunch through the early morning mists and 2,000 feet into the crater. Ngorongoro Crater is the World’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Due to its size and diversity, the crater floor is comprised of several distinct areas, ranging from forest, swamps, lakes and springs, to open grassland and some sandy dunes. A truly unique wildlife experience.
Enroute back to your lodge this afternoon you will visit a local Maasai Boma (village) for a cultural experience.

Ngorongoro to Tarangire
This morning you will depart for Tarangire National Park. You will pass the Ngorongoro Conservation area, the village of Karatu and drive down the Great Rift Valley where you will be able to see Lake Manyara to your right. The name Tarangire is derived from the Tarangire River which provides permanent water for wildlife. In addition to a wide variety of mammals, over 300 species of birdlife have been recorded in this park.
Enjoy a picnic lunch while on a game drive.

Tarangire to Kilimanjaro Airport
Depart after breakfast and head north east to Arusha with an optional stop over at the Cultural Heritage center for some souvenir shopping and to view the art gallery. On a clear day you will see Mt Meru standing tall over the city of Arusha. On arrival in Arusha lunch is provided followed by transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport where you will say goodbye to your driver/guide and check in for your departure flight.
